Disney Parks Reopening!

Good news! The Disney parks are beginning to show signs of reopening! While I love the creative memes, videos and TikToks that have come out of this, there is no replacement for the Disney Magic you experience at the parks. Watch this video to get the information or read the rest below!

Shanghai Disneyland Officially Reopens!

Shanghai Disney has officially announced it will be Reopening Monday May 11th! This is the first and only park to announce reopening. Shanghai originally closed January 25th.

No other parks have followed suit because Shanghai is serving as the test site for reopening. If successful, I believe that Hong Kong and Tokyo will reopen, followed by Paris and finally the U.S. parks.

Obviously when Shanghai Disneyland reopens there will be some health and safety measures.

Here is what we know so far:

-Masks are required (for both customers and cast members) unless you are eating.

-Decreased Capacity (The government has mandated 30% capacity)

Typically Shanghai sees 80,000 visitors/day

The adjusted capacity would be 24,000 customers/day

-Social Distancing in ride queues and ride vehicles

I have seen photos online of markers on the ground for ride queues

-Tickets will be purchased online in advance

-Annual passholders must make reservations

U.S. Parks News

Now, no information has been released for the American parks. However, we do have some information.

We received an update from the Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer. (Which I didn't know was a position.)

We have some information on what the U.S. Parks opening will look like.

-Retail and Dining will open first (most likely Downtown Disney and Disney Springs)

-Virtual Queues will be utilized

-Currently Florida has stated that Disney World will have a maximum of 50% capacity (That seems a little high, but it's coming from Florida so I'm not surprised)

This is definitely some exciting news and I am curious to see how the opening at Shanghai Disneyland will go. Thankfully we only have a few days to wait!
